Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have launched the Honda Shine 100, an entry-level 100cc motorcycle with a Rs 64,900 starting price (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The launch comes at a time when the entry-level two-wheeler segment is facing challenges as a result of inflation, higher ownership costs, and decreased demand, particularly in rural areas.
Bookings
Bookings for the Honda Shine 100 are currently open. Although the production of the motorcycle is scheduled to commence in April, it won’t be available at dealerships until May 23.
Rivals
Currently, the 100cc category captures almost 28% of the two-wheeler market. The Honda Shine 100 model is set to compete with the Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Splendor+, and Bajaj Platina 100 models, which have starting prices of Rs 61,232 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), Rs 72,420 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), and Rs 67,475 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), respectively.
Mileage
The Honda Shine 100 boasts an impressive development process, involving 12 patent applications. Equipped with a brand-new 100cc PGM-FI engine that meets OBD2 compliance standards, this motorcycle is said to offer outstanding mileage performance. Its construction features an all-new lightweight diamond frame with telescopic front suspension and hydraulic shock absorbers in the rear, accompanied by alloy wheels and a combi-brake system with an equalizer.
