The India Launch of the all-new Hyundai Verna is scheduled for 21st March 2023 and new spy images of both the petrol and turbo-petrol models have surfaced on the internet with more details. These latest images show that the two powertrains will feature distinct exterior and interior designs. Let’s examine the details more closely.

Hyundai has taken inspiration from Volkswagen’s Virtus in creating visual distinctions between the petrol and turbo-petrol versions. The spy photos depict the 1.5 turbo-petrol models with blacked-out alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and an all-black interior with red accents on the AC vents, similar to the approach used in Volkswagen’s Virtus GT. Leaked images of the interior also reveal a dual-tone black and beige dashboard with beige upholstery for the seats.

According to the latest spy shots, the DCT automatic versions of the car will have an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold feature, while the manual models will have a conventional handbrake. Additionally, it appears that the larger dual 10.25-inch screens will only be available in the higher-end trims, with lower and mid-level trims receiving a smaller infotainment display surrounded by larger bezels in the same housing. The spy images also suggest that the car will have various features like drive modes, parking assistance, and ventilated front seats. Furthermore, higher-spec versions of the Verna will have advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features.

The Verna’s 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine by now produces 160hp and 253Nm of torque, while the naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 115hp and 144Nm of torque. Both engines will come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, but the naturally aspirated engine will also have the option of a CVT, while the turbo engine will have the option of a DCT.

The next-generation Verna is expected to be available in four trim levels: EX, S, SX, and SX (O), with prices ranging from Rs 60,000 to Rs 1 lakh depending on the trim level. The Verna will compete in its segment with the facelifted Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
