The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is set to undergo significant updates, including not only cosmetic improvements but also the introduction of a fresh set of features. The facelifted version of the Sonet has already been spotted in South Korea prior to its launch, and despite being heavily camouflaged, it clearly displays the expected changes. The 2024 Sonet facelift will continue to compete with the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV300.
Kia Sonet Facelift: Styling
The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift spied images give a glimpse of various possible changes. It appears to have a new piano finish grille, sharper headlights, and a larger housing for the fog lights. In addition, the bumper looks new with a vertically placed light element between the headlights and fog lights, which could be LED reverse lights or turn signals.
The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift remains largely unchanged from the current model. Still, there might be some changes to the door panels and body cladding. The alloy wheels look similar but now have a sportier two-tone appearance. Also, like the current version, the Sonet Facelift will still feature a one-piece sunroof. Kia may also bring other features of the upcoming Seltos facelift, such as networked LED units and dynamic turn signals.
Kia Sonet Facelift: Powertrains
It is unlikely that Kia will introduce new powertrain options for the upcoming facelift of the Sonet. Currently, the Kia Sonet is available with three engines: a 1.2L Naturally Aspirated Petrol engine, a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The 1.2L petrol engine produces 83PS of power and 115Nm of torque. This engine comes with 5-speed manual transmission.
The 1L Turbo-petrol engine generates 120 PS power and 172 Nm torque, with the option of a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT transmission. On the other hand, the 1.5L diesel engine yields 116 PS power and 250 Nm torque, and it can be combined with either a 6-speed iMT or 6-speed AT. The company will price the updated Sonet within the same range as the current model, ranging from Rs. 8 lakhs to Rs. 15 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Kia Sonet Facelift: India Launch
Kia is planning to introduce two major updates for the Indian market. In the coming months, the company will roll out a midlife update for the Seltos, while it is expected to launch the revised Sonet late this year or early next year.
